<p><b>Malin Head</b> (<a href="Irische_Sprache" title="Irische Sprache">irisch</a> <i>Cionn Mhálanna</i>; auch <i>Dunalderagh</i> genannt) ist der <a href="Geographie_Irlands#Landspitzen" title="Geographie Irlands">nördlichste Punkt</a> der Insel <a href="Irland_(Insel)" title="Irland (Insel)">Irland</a> und liegt in der Grafschaft <a href="County_Donegal" title="County Donegal">Donegal</a> auf der Halbinsel <a href="Inishowen" title="Inishowen">Inishowen</a>. Er befindet sich rund 12 km nordwestlich des namensgebenden Dorfs Malin und etwa 16,5 km nordnordwestlich der Kleinstadt <a href="Carndonagh" title="Carndonagh">Carndonagh</a>. Im <a href="Atlantik" class="mw-redirect" title="Atlantik">Atlantik</a> liegen zirka 10 km nordöstlich von Malin Head die <a href="Inishtrahull_Island" title="Inishtrahull Island">Inishtrahull Island</a> und 3,7 km östlich die Garvan Isles.
</p><p>Neben den Resten eines Wachturms, der in den Jahren 1805 bis 1909 als <i>British Admiralty Tower</i> genutzt wurde und während des <a href="Zweiter_Weltkrieg" title="Zweiter Weltkrieg">Zweiten Weltkriegs</a> den <a href="Irische_Streitkr%C3%A4fte" title="Irische Streitkräfte">Irish Defence Forces</a> als Aussichtsturm diente, kann man vom Turm aus das aus weißen Steinen gelegte <a href="Eire_Sign" title="Eire Sign">Eire Sign</a> Nr. 80 sehen. Die Markierung sollte während des Zweiten Weltkriegs den Flugzeugen signalisieren, dass sie nun neutrales Gebiet überfliegen. Auf Malin Head befindet sich eine <a href="Wetterstation" title="Wetterstation">Wetterstation</a>, die öfters die <a href="Windgeschwindigkeit" title="Windgeschwindigkeit">Windstärke</a> 12 misst – die höchste bisher hier gemessene Windgeschwindigkeit beträgt 181,5 km/h, gemessen am 16. September 1961, als der <a href="Hurrikan" title="Hurrikan">Hurrikan</a> Debbie großen Schaden an der irischen Westküste verursachte. Bei dieser Wetterstation befindet sich auch eine <a href="Navtex" class="mw-redirect" title="Navtex">Navtex</a>-Sendestation.
</p><p>Vor Malin Head sank 1588 mit der „Barca de Hamburgo“ ein Schiff der <a href="Spanische_Armada" title="Spanische Armada">Spanischen Armada</a>. Schiffsnamen wie <i>Barca de Hamburgo</i>, <i>Barca de Ancique</i> (Barke von Danzig) oder <i>Paloma Blanca</i> (Polonia Blanca) verweisen auf die Herkunft gekaufter, gemieteter oder konfiszierter Schiffe.
</p><p>Ebenfalls liegt 28 Meilen nordwestlich von Malin Head in einer Tiefe von 68 Metern das Wrack der <a href="Justicia_(Schiff%2C_1914)" title="Justicia (Schiff, 1914)">Justicia</a>, welche am <a href="20._Juli" title="20. Juli">20. Juli</a> <a href="1918" title="1918">1918</a> dort durch das deutschen U-Boot UB 124 versenkt wurde.
